Make Health Your Top Priority

Firstly, I am delighted to share that my website ‘Mind In Sight- Leeds’ an Integrative health, Wellbeing & Mindfulness has gathered more than 10,000 hits, as my venture also completes 7 years! I am grateful to each and every one of you who has stopped by & made this possible. I sincerely hope that navigating the website is easy & you have found what you are looking for in my webpages, blog posts or meditation audio files. Feel free to share your thoughts.

As I am passionate about the brain 🧠 health, lifestyle medicine & integrative approach to health & wellbeing, I would like to make this venture a source of inspiration for you to take charge of your own health. Nurturing health may seem like an insurmountable task but it doesn’t need to be. No matter at what stage of life you are, it is possible to restore health & wellbeing simply by being mindful of the choices you make today. It’s about making teeny tiny changes to your daily behaviours to being with. And consistently following these through to create healthy habits which will stay with you for life. Adopting a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean obsessing over finding newer ways or scrolling social media for hours.

Just look back a little. We all can draw on ancient wisdom. The rich legacy of yoga, meditation, breath work is proven to bring calm, clarity, improved cognition, stamina, balance, & emotional resilience, and yet we struggle to adopt these into our everyday life. Increasingly, there is scientific backing for yet another long held tradition of periodic fasting for it’s plethora of benefits from improved metabolic health, insulin sensitivity, weight loss to improved brain function. And merely by shifting the dinner times to 6 or 7 pm, we all can reap the positive effects of the age old practice of intermittent fasting easily achieving the 12-14 hrs of overnight fasting window even if the breakfast time is kept at 7-8 am.

Just look around a little. The kitchen is a very good place to start. It’s full of aromatic herbs & tantalising spices with tonnes of whole pulses & cereals. These combined with fresh vegetables & fruits, are full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, polyphenols, proteins, healthy fats & so much more. There are anti-inflammatory agents, analgesics, prebiotics, probiotics, cardio protectors, fat busters, immunity boosters. All we need is a little imagination to put our culinary skills to practice in order to nurture the trillions of good bacteria residing in our gut to keep the ill health at bay.

Turns out, the Gut is the Master Mind of our health! 😄 Healthy gut is the immunity booster. It produces happy hormones & reduces chronic inflammation. The latter is deemed causal for several chronic health conditions from cardiovascular diseases, gut issues, joint pains to poor mental health. All through the Gut-Brain axis! But don’t feel gutted though! Simply start your health journey by making small changes to your diet eating fresh, cutting down on refined carbs, eating more of whole foods, home cooked if possible, & most importantly start moving more throughout the day! Break the long sitting spells! Come on get up. Move after every 1 hour and walk around, do squats, climb the stairs, do stretches, touch your toes, hop, skip or jump anything you like.

Live life ageless!

You all have been a driving force along the path that has led me to where I am today!

With gratitude & warmth 🙏🏼🩷
